Toll-free SMS Verification FAQ

What is toll-free number verification?

Toll-free number verification process enables the messaging traffic to be tagged as ‘verified’ with our downstream partners. The verified tag reduces the number of false-positive blocks and helps increase message deliverability. Please note that this is now an industry requirement.


VERIFICATION IS NOT WHITELISTING, so approval doesn’t guarantee that you won’t experience any blocking. However, as long as the traffic sent aligns with the submitted verification, this will help us work with our partners more swiftly to have the blocking be removed.

Toll-free verification timelines?

Once submitted, it can take 3-4 weeks to receive the final result on your request. This is because these requests are manually reviewed by our vendor. Submitting the form with incomplete or unclear fields and/or multiple toll-free numbers on a request may cause delays in processing.  Please make sure to submit detailed forms. It’ll help make the process easier for approval.

Is there a deadline to provide verification information?

Effective January 31, 2024, only fully verified toll-free numbers will be able to send messages.

How do I verify my toll-free number?

To begin the process, you will need to complete the following:

     Upgrading to our Mango Plus texting plan

     Select the toll-free number(s) you want to text from

     Fill out our toll-free verification form


The process looks like this:

Your opt-in method

Your opt-in is crucial to verifying your number successfully. Not providing sufficient information for your opt-in is the most common rejection we receive. Please make sure opt-in flow is detailed by providing step by step instructions a consumer must take to opt-in to your business text messages. Ensure that there is explicitly stated consent disclaimer with opt-in language at the time of collection. This should be obtained by the first party that is sending the messages.


Note: Consent can’t be obtained from a third party. Third party opt-in is not supported and can not be verified.


Filling out the toll-free verification form

Completing the form should take about 10-20 minutes on average. Once completed, we will take your complete form and submit it to our vendor for processing. We recommend that you have the following information when filling out the form:

     Your full name, company email, and phone number

     Legal company name, service address, and website

     Your EIN

     How many messages you send a every month

     Reason for texting from a toll-free number (customer service, alerts, marketing, etc.)

     Some examples messages you (plan to) send

     Pictures of the method your contacts use to opt-in to your messages

How will I be notified regarding the status of my verification?

Once you complete the verification form, we will submit it to our vendor for processing and notify you by email upon successful submission. Afterwards, you will receive email updates on your approval or declined verification request. If you want reach out for an update, you can contact the porting team at (435) 767-0660 or

I’ve already had my toll-free number verified with my previous carrier. Why do I have to go through the verification again with Mango Voice?

Your toll-free number will retain its verified status when your toll-free number ports. We require you to submit a verification form to us for your toll-free number(s) once they port to Mango Voice so that we can have record of the details in case of a message block event.
