What is an extension? - Copied

Extensions are the building blocks of call flows. They are where a call is routed to or through. A basic example of an extension would be an inbound call that is sent to a desk phone.

A more complex example of extensions would be an inbound call that goes to a front desk with extension 101. The call could then be transferred to a back-office desk phone such as billing or scheduling on extension 102.

Call Transfer

As your company grows, your call flows may continue to change and include other extension types such as queues, ring groups, and conference rooms.

Note: Call flows that are built for office use can be accessed from anywhere through mobile devices and the webphone.
