Polycom VVX Provisioning

Mango Voice does not sell Polycom VVX office phones, but we do support them. This article will walk you through setting up a customers existing Polycom VVX devices.


Device must be set back to factory settings. (Applicable to Polycom VVX 101, 150, 201, 250, 300, 301, 311, 350, 400, 401, 410, 411, 450, 500, 501, 600, 601)


Polycom VVX devices must be factory reset and then provisioned to Mango Voice. Steps are listed below for both. 

How to factory reset a VVX

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. On the "Loading Application" screen press "Cancel".1
  3. As soon as the "Welcome" message appears, press and hold down "1", "3", "5".
  4. Release them only when seeing the "Enter Password" message appear.2
  5. For the password, use the phone's MAC address (using CAPS for letter) and press "OK". (The MAC address can be found on the back of the phone next to the cable inputs)
  6. After the phone restarts, the phone will be successfully reset (with the default password "4, 5, 6")

Provisioning phone to Mango Voice

  1. Obtain IP Address
    1. Press the "Home" button
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Press "4" or scroll down to "Status"
    4. Press "2" or scroll down to "Network"
    5. Press "1" or scroll down to "TCP/IP Parameters"
    6. Get "IPv4 Addr" and enter it into a web browser with "https://" at the beginning of the IP address
  2. Login as "Admin" and with default password "4, 5, 6"Screen Shot 2021-04-21 at 4.22.07 PM
  3. Collect and enter the "MAC Address" for the device on the Mango Admin site and click "Save"
  4. Ensure the "UC Software Version" is "5.9" or higherScreen Shot 2021-04-21 at 4.23.33 PM
    1. If the version is lower than 5.9, got to "Utilities" -> "Software Upgrade"
    2. Make sure "Poly Hosted Server" is selected and click "Check for Update"
    3. Click "Install"
  5. On the phone UI, go to "Settings" -> "Provisioning Server"
  6. Change "Server Type" to "HTTP"
  7. Enter: "profiler.mangovoice.com/profiler/polycom/5.9/" in the "Server Address"

  9. Go to "Utilities" -> "Reboot"
    1. The phone can take a couple minutes to fully reboot and provision
